Kindergarten Pre-Registration & Child Find, April 26, 2012. Spring is here and so is the time for the annual Bliss School District screening and pre-registration of children who will enter Kindergarten August 2012. Pre-registration allows the staff to work with parents to make sure that their child has the necessary pre-school skills needed for Kindergarten. If you have a child who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2012, who will be entering Bliss Kindergarten in the fall, please pre-register them. You need to bring the original birth certificate and immunization records. Please note that we will advise you to update your immunizations by the fall and another copy of the immunizations will be required before the student enrolls. Federal and State laws require that all public school districts conduct annual Child Find activities, so identify children with special needs who may need special education services to meet developmental disabilities and delays. The Bliss School District, in cooperation with parents and non-public school agencies, annually conduct Child Find in conjunction with Kindergartens screening and pre-registration. Child Find activities are conducted to create public awareness of special education programs, to advise the public of rights of students, and to alert the community residents of the need for identifying and serving children with disabilities from the age of 3 through the semester in which they turn twenty-one. If you know a child who is age 3 through 5 years of age who may have needs that result from disabilities or developmental delays, we will be screening those children on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Disabilities and developmental delays include children who may have difficulty walking, talking, hearing, learning or who may display behaviors that appear different from other children their age or their siblings. If you would like more information, please contact the school at 208-352-4445.PLEASE TRY TO COME BEFORE NOON IF POSSIBLE.
